The one with the visible ports looks like a sas board. Other one (Sony) looks like a high end optical controller or tape board.
Believe both should clear telco despite the blank side.

O wait, you know I believe their was a tape drive and some other gizmos that looked like DVD or disc drives with that lot of severs. I'm glad I was going back thru some of these boards I sorted before I had a better idea of what things are. This site has helped me tremendously.
