OK so i know what they are but whats the best thing to do with them as far as scrap or sell ?

i have 2 of them that don't power on in any way i have others that work and are tested i am going to sell the working hard drives but what about the ones that dont work.?

The boards are hard drive board and are some of the best computer boards made.
When they don't power up it's usually due to the power pins being loose or broken, or a head crash of the major variety. Like a bullet. The drives have a fault fail gracefully command to keep data intact for recovery on catastrophic failure. Early ones used a fuse and later ones a circuit.

Shells are a light magnesium manganese alloy and the platters are usually thick gold plated.
Arms are magnesium or aluminium with big platinum heads (comparatively)!

Heavy aluminium motors, brass and nickel pegs, thick gold pins.
These were absolute tanks.
