Just wanted to see if this is a telecomm board, and if yes does it need to be cleaned of the large pin ports, and the small heat sinks.

leave the ports, take the aluminum heat-sinks off...they should just pull of with a pair of channel locks.

yes, the board is telecom.

MLS, unless I'm blind there are no sinks. There's two sets of ports and the led display
No sinks

But yes telco

Never mind I'm blind.

Thank you!

I cleaned off the heat sinks, but a few ic's were stuck and came off with the heatsink. Is it ok to just glue the ic's back to the board? Is there a preferred method?

Which leads me to a whole other depopulate question which I will start a new thread for.

as long as its only a couple, you will be fine... they know and understand that sometime heat-sinks will take the chip with them.

I would just throw the loose ic chips with your other chips and send them in whenever its convenient.

Stuck chipped heatsink ICs I tend to toss into peripheral or midgrade depending on the IC size.
