That's the first mb I've seen like that, it's fairly heavy for its size.
That CPU is Green/Brown Fiber No Metal, isn't it?

Most likely. Believe you can twist the screw on the socket to release the pins but I've not worked on this style of Mac before.
I do very little with Apple in general; it's not used much in industrial and backend.
