I have someone who is interested in getting rid of some gold plated pins, just under 2 lbs. All he really knows is they all came off of a mainframe of some sort and he's had them for a long time; something like 10+ years. Not a lot to go on but I took some pictures and was hoping I could get an idea to how Boardsort would price them.

Then, I believe this is a laser diode(?) from a DVD drive. I took some magnified pictures, just because, and was wondering, is there any value in these and is it something Boardsort will buy?

Diode if just the ic it can go pinless. Otherwise the entire relay I normally put in peripheral.

Pins are quoted after they received them. They are scanned with an xrf scanner and paid according to materials present. There's really no way to quote them out prior to scanning them.

Thanks lostinlodos.

Could I at least use the gold tip connector ends' payout rate as a basis for what to expect or is there just too much fluctuation in the amount of plating?

That's a fairly low end price but a good starting point.
From what I've sent them and what others have said they're literally all over the place.
