From an old tv board. Had a huge heat sink on top. Appears to be aluminum on one side.

I asked the same question before about this component and was told it is somewhat similar to an Audio amplifier I.C but its not the same since it has legs on both sides. I was informed that it is o.k to toss it into your peripheral grade bucket so it might not pass I.C class. I have about 4 lbs. of these and can not decide what to do with them.

Here’s what’s inside. Just toss them in peripheral

Television or video unit controller
This one looks good for telco. (Most are peripheral).

What makes it telco? All the tantalum caps? Usually when I see folks posting it's obvious because of high IC count but this one doesn't have that. Just trying to understand so I don't have to ask about several others :-)

Evil is spot on.
These specific boards are a very high grade gold plated board. There’s also a bit of palladium and silver from the ceramic capacitors that help combined to push them to telco.
That said most of these controller boards from TVs will be peripheral.
Do ask, especially on these things. Because there’s no set in ston rules on scrap. It’s why the forum is here.
