 Post subject: Dvd drive

These are from dvd/cd drives. Are they worth the trouble band time to pull them?

Chris had me put those in pinless when they have the metal board, ic if it’s a fibre board.
(I tried for dlp, no go)

Generally not. You can throw the whole array unit, like that you just posted above, in peripheral. It’s what I do now.

I'm all but sure he is talking about the second picture I posted as being the "whole array unit".

I'm pretty sure that's what I heard awhile back. And of course it's after my wife and I tore down some 200 dvd/cd drives.

Evil,

You may already know this, but just in case you don't. 3-1/2" floppy drive boards will go peripheral if they have gold pins even though the board itself is green/brown. Also some mouse boards will go peripheral as long as the IC chip has gold legs.

yes ...for now but i hold a dream about getting those laser mouse ics upgraded to a dlp .but thats highly unlikely .



i have noted your input lostinlodos and will see what the majortiy of mine are
and this is something that i can do aswell

They don’t take them as dlp. Doubt they ever will. Just too small to class out for it.
