I never knew that these type of SMD ceramic crystal oscillators had gold pads and bond wires.

They're not found on every PCB. Any information as to their use/function will be greatly appreciated!

Well, they’re oscillators.
Lol.
I know they are for timing to some degree, but the aspect of their use is more in the technical engineering aspect of the industry and more bare board than my experience.
Boardsort will accept small amounts of them if you pack them up in something; pill bottles, shrink wrap, etc. And they’ll add them to either peripheral or IC class depending on who accepts them. But they don’t have a class and tend to frown on sending in raw components not on the list as a general business premise.
You have a bunch of loose ones so you can send them in. But they don’t want you to depopulate boards you’re sending of this or that component. If that makes sense.

As for what they actually do one of the electrical engineers on the site will have to fill you in on it. You’re outside my field here.
