Many of the consumer grade modems and routers you have contain peripheral boards. Open the cases of those devices and remove the boards inside. Any brown boards you have are low grade. Depending on your local scrap markets, remove any transformers you find on low-grade boards and sell them as CBMs, or separate for #2 copper and heavy melt steel.

Power supplies can be sold as-is, or you can do what I do is open them up and take the following items out:
* transformers (sell as CBMs or separate copper and ferrous metal)
* heatsinks (sell as aluminum)
* fans (sell as a CBM)
* magnet coils (same as trasnformers, but may be easier to separate copper from iron using hand tools)

You are left with the low-grade board, wire, and metal casing. Trim the wire and sell with your insulated wire. Sell the low-grade to your local buyer or to Boardsort, and the metal casing goes with your heavy melt.

CD-ROM drives are easy to process as you are only taking one or two things out and those are the controller boards and any low grade boards you see that are easy to remove. Look up Mike the Scrapper on Youtube and watch his video on scrapping optical drives.

With your motherboards, clean off any heatsinks you have over the CPU chip and other chips on the board. Test the metal of the heatsinks to see if they are copper or aluminum and place in your appropriate metal bin. Next, look at the CPU slot or socket to determine if the board is small socket or large socket. Large socket boards have CPU sockets or slots that are 1.75" or larger. Anything else is small socket, unless you have a 386/486 processor board.

The last power supply board is a low grade. You can remove the transformers and the heat sink. The CBM on the bottom appears to be one that you can separate the magnet wire from the iron by using pliers. Moose Scrapper on Youtube has an excellent video on scrapping different types of transformers and CBMs.

Hey bro i appreciate it i dont mean to sound stupid hell i was a CPU science major lmao... I know the CBMs are the little chips and the Caps are the towers and the transformers are the ones with copper wrapped around.... So pretty much take the transformers off the alum heat sink the wire and just toss the rest in normal scrap which goes by the 100 per lb

The one on the bottom with copper wrapped around is a Torid Coil, The transformer is the yellow topped on in the center of the board, CBM's are not chips. CBM's are Copper Bearing Motors(or Metals can't remember which) and the motors and transformers fall into that category. The little black chips are IC Chips.
