If im taking a trip and have room will they buy power supplies like they are or does the boards need out? Obviously I would get more out of them if the boards were out but, Im running out of time to get it all torn apart before Im headed that way and also need to get them out of the way. Thank you for any input!

If you don't want to sell your power supplies with the wire or had already trimmed the wire, I would pull off the aluminum heat sinks and any transformers with exposed copper and separate them. Don't fool with the transformers that have all that tape on them because it's a pain to get off and the little #2 that you get isn't worth the time and energy.

I've yet to find one that did contain gold plating. I would think that the metal used would be brass or tin.

The common power supply's from home pcs leave together, you'll make more for your time. The commercial ones have mid grade boards inside, usually no wire. Worth the time to take apart, esp cuz all depending whos on the scale one day they may pay you for power supply with wire because theyre commercial ones, then the next day $.15 a lb. I recently stumbled on about 50 Silicon Graphics systems, older Indigos, Challenge S Series, Indys, etc, and the power supplys in them have alot of gold plated pins, so on higher grade pcs and servers, take a look.
