I believe bs calls them foreign gold capped right now $75/lb. Not a terrible price for those. I had about 3lbs recently and went another way to sell them and only got about $160, but alot of them were integrated in the board, exact same chip, I just cut around it with a pair of snips, then got a quote of 4 - 12 a pound, well never. Very nice chip tho.

Don't be surprised if you get 486/386 grade for it because it looks very much like one although there's nothing saying 486/386 on the chip.

Just wait for one of the moderators to advice you.

Anyone else care to chime in on these?

Thanks,

Tony

After comparing what I see here to what's posted in the e-scrap gallery for both 386/486 and foreign gold cap, I would be inclined to give it foreign gold cap grade. This one could go either way since you do have those flakes of gold plating on the top of the chip. I would shoot boardsort a private message with a link to this thread and ask for his input.

Ok. I'll do that and report back with the results.

Ok, I was told to toss this one in with my 486 CPUs.
