So I have these fingers/slot extenders? from 90's apple computers. Each unit weighs 12 grams. There are 50 regular pins, and four of the oversized ones on each card. The total weight of the pins is 5 grams. The four pins appear to have a nickel coating on the slot side, and gold on the stem. The others are all gold flashed. Of course, the two styles will be kept separate for assay. I figure I can get one ounce of pins every six minutes, or at least 8 ounces per hour easily. Question is, Is the increase in value worth the time spent. I don't want to spend hours and only increasing payout by a couple dollars an hour over what the raw material would have brought.

Then a few of these: weight 7 grams each. Knife cuts thru the gold easily to the fiberglass board with no color change.

Never should have gotten me started talking pins! From pre 1980 telephone panels, lots of slots with two inch pins sticking out the back, with silvery wire coiled around each post. Each panel, with the plastic slots mounted on an aluminum frame (picture frame like) weighs twenty pounds or so, with some having circuit board /controller card

the gold flashing connectors on gold FINGERS (edge connectors/wedge connectors) are NOT pins and boardsort does not buy them any higher than gold finger. Less if you've started extracting gold and turned it into crumbled gold and PCB powder.

telophony pins are worth the effort usually.
img 4225 is a gold finger. don't mess around with them. The rate of pay for whole clean cut gold fingers is already high. and you're doing yourself a disservice by cutting them up and getting a lower pin rate. (there's more than gold value to a class).

older apple pins have always been better for me in value (and true IBM pins).
thinking these connectors are 60-80 cents per lb on any given day and pins like those can be $3-$8 per lb, or more depending on how well you KEEP them sorted.
