What is the best method for ic chip removal you guys have found? Ten years ago most people just popped then with a screw driver or used pliers to snap them off. I cut legs on one side with mini cutters and then take off. Anyone have better options ? Thanks!

For board soldered ones, a box cutter works in a pinch. I use a jaguar knife myself.

For socketed scrap chips, screwdrivers work well. To salvage them though a chip remover is best.

I have a putty knife that I have sharpened to a one-sided edge. It's about an inch wide so it fits in tight spaces. I also use it to remove transformers.

Remember the rule though.
Removing soldered chips from any board above midgrade is going to kill the buy value of the board.

Wood chisel, they come in different sizes, and still work fine if they get dull.
