My son was starting to remove caps from the boards are tese of value and should they be removed?

Generally you don’t have to remove them unless they are gigantic (eg 1/4 the weight of the board).

Canister capacitors contain oil and aluminium. Some steel buyers will pay a sealed unit rate for them, as if they were hydraulic cylinders or cooling canisters.

Boardsort doesn’t buy them directly.

Ok so by removing them it will not affect the price correct? I have a way to nuetralize the oil and smash them flat.

Only by lowering the weight of the board.

I tend to remove them myself generally as replacement parts.
