Since it is too expensive to ship most items I was wondering about saving them up and bringing them in person. My question is on bringing in low grade boards. Can anything be taken off of them before bringing them in (ex. heat sinks, transformers, etc) or does low grade need to be untouched as well like the better grade boards? Also if items can be removed does it matter if the board is brought in broken?

Low grade is just that. The lowest grade (aside from blanks).
I tend to remove capacitors heatsinks and transformers since they're all worth more than the lowgrade price.
Also remove solid state resistors if you know a yard that buys them since they average 40-60c a pound

ok thanks, just wanted to be sure. So the boards can be broken. I normally remove heat sinks, transformers or other copper bearing, ic chips and I normally break the boards doing so. Didn't want to save them, cart them to boardsort and then find out they wouldn't take them.
