Boardsort.com purchases cell phones by the pound with or without batteries.
When you say "without batteries", do I just take off the back cover and pull out the battery or are there more little batteries inside the cell phone that I need to look for and remove? Should I include the plastic cover or recycle it with other plastics? Thanks!!!

As far as whole cell phones removing the battery pack is fine. I believe the premise of with battery comes on sealed phones such as the iPhone or new Samsung where the battery is non-user-removable
Some phones have tiny cl batteries in them but i doubt there counted in with battery class.
If you were to dissect a phone to that extent you'd be bets with clearing the board out. ;)

Thank you for the prompt response. That's what I was thinking also, but I've seen little tiny batteries in some cell phones, besides the main battery pack. I was hoping they didn't mean remove those! It'd be too much work.

Thanks again!

Those tiny tiny batteries....
I know the whole remove battery thing stems from in warehouse boom moments. They've had non taped batteries short and blow before at least once... maybe more.
I've had them go here myself and they are dangerous. Especially the big ones from cell/laptops.

That said any cell phone; even 5 dollar Chinese miPhone knockoffs are sturdy enough to contain a burst from a 0.2 volt microcell battery. doubt you'd even know by looking at the phone.
