I'd like to take a moment to clear up a few things, make a few comments, just make some general statements.

I do NOT work for boardsort. I'm a seller to them like everyone else her.

I'm a moderator because I am willing to take the time to do so. I'm not perfect, I'm not a god, and in REALITY nothing I say is set in stone.
Hence my posting signature.

My first shipment to boardsort was a disaster since I was coming to them from a group of companies who were more specialised in what they buy; and far more generic on the lower end. I got a stern but very friendly email telling me I needed to sort better, the use the gallery, forums, etc.
...I also found that much of my shipment got UPGRADED!
A few users here helped me extensively, on the site and by email, to work out where things go. Some of those wonderful users are still here. Some have moved on. But I promised to work with everyone and learn as much as I could to not only fit in but to help others afterwards.
It took months of patience from boardsort to find what goes where, but they were willing to continue to work with me. Especially since much of what I have doesn't really fit into this or that category. Ram cards from the 80s the size of VGA cards, solid silver wire wrap boards, platinum cap CPUs. Stuff the general public has very little chance of running into on their own these days.
In time everyone came to the general consensus I was good /enough/ to start helping others.

I'm always learning, I make mistakes, I'm human. I'm accurate most of the time but not always and I'm well aware of that. I can never know everything but I WILL try to be as correct as I can be.

So what AM I good for?
If you want to know what something is? I've a custom parts database culled from, now, literally thousands of different catalogs, web sites, web stores, etc. If it has a part number, serial number, some sort of identifying mark and you'd like to know what it is ; so far I've only been stumped three times on posts here.
As to what class it is for boardsort I'm correct most of the time but NOT always and welcome second opinions. I also tend to by cautious on borderline stuff and will usually error on the lower grade option. I'd rather you get surprised and get an upgrade than the other way around.

I have never sold to Boardsort, I have been collecting for the last ten years lightly at first but more the last year or so waiting for my retirement for time to deliver my goods. That being said, I joined in 2015 but I have followed the site for at least a year before joining. Now with all the time that I have followed this site I have never ever seen anything coming from Lost other than a willingness to help others and always respectful and honest interaction with any who post to this site. I have learned a lot from his posts and others with the understanding that the information is not written in stone and ways to contact the Boardsort people are on the webpage for all to see and use. I have said it before and will say again THANK YOU Lost for your time and efforts, you are appreciated.

I'll drink to that . . .

In fact, if I ever get to meet him. Mr. Lodos won't have to buy any of his drinks.

w00t!

Lost it is highly recommendable all the free time you put into this knowing that you do it with no compensation. If we were all perfect the world wouldnt be in the shape that it is.

Been a great help Lost. Appreciate your knowledge and willingness to help us NEWBS. I have been scraping for 6 years now (mostly common metals), but have expanded into e-scrap more. I see the value it has and in my city of 450,000 people, hardly anyone knows about e-scrap. Im amazed with how difficult of a time people have finding people to haul their junk electronics off. Ive picked up 6 lap-tops, and 4 towers in the last 24hrs from 1 person. Im glad I built a 640ft garage when I built my house 4 years ago. Keep up the great work Lost. thanks!
