Can the large capacitors go into low grade board? they are the large ones like Nippon 450v 100000uF rating. If not, is there a place where they can be deposed of properly?
Thanks for any help.

No. Boardsort wants the board too.
However many recycling yards will buy canister capacitors as aluminium breakage at best or “sealed units” at worst.
If that fails try a small electronics or pc shop. Surprising number of them will take them off your hands for no charge

Thanks for the help, we are a recycling plant and we do not buy them, nor does the yard that we sell to. These are the large ones that have screws on the top, in order to get all the metals off the board these have to come off. But I guess if last resort I would try to screw them back to the board.

I will have to look into the other option, electronics or pc shop, I just hate seeing these go to waste, as my last option would be the dump, but at least they would dispose of them properly.

Ah, I didn’t realise who it was that posted initially. I’d be really surprised no one would take them as shred. I think I know what your talking about though. If you can stack them on a pallet you could always auction them.
You’re outside the range a normal repair shop would want but look up local industrial repair companies. Talk to them and see if any have interest.

Also if you could grab the part numbers off one I could look into it further too.

Yeah no recycling plant around here buys them from us, they are considered hazardous material. I actually have a lot of them, not like a pallet full, but enough for them to get out of my hair already LOL

No worries sometimes I don't even look at names when I read the posts LOL

I will get some number for you tomorrow at work. I have from the smallest to some really good sizes. I will get some photos attached and that will give you a better understanding of what they are.

I have been tearing apart equipment from the 80's and I actually pulled out a 50 pound transformer. talk about heavy, that we can recycle, but for some reason the capacitors we can not. I am the E-Scrapper of the business, my husband is the Metals Pro. I have truly learned a lot from this site.
