Do they still buy the item even though it only has a light weight? For example, only 1 or 2 pounds of IC Chips. Thanks!

I can give an opinion based on what I have read here since I have not delivered my scrap as yet but soon. I think if you follow the procedures when mailing in I don't think they would have any problem with that weight of ics but it may not be worth it to you. You may want to wait to collect a bigger amount and send in other items with them since you have ics I assume you may have boards also. Since you have taken the time to join it shows you may be in it for a longer run of scrapping.

Ideally you would want to send at least a few pounds total; enough to cover shipping fees.
Chris has told me to make sure the weights are enough to tip the scale. Meaning 2-4 ounces minimum.
This can make sense in a multi item order if your sending, inx, 8 ounces of gold cap CPUs or 6 ounces of ram with 5 lbs of motherboards.

To send ounces of a class I highly suggest you put a 0 in the pound box for the class on the quote form. Some modern browsers don’t play nice with the quote form when pounds is blank.

Generally not. But you can always post pictures if you want to be sure
