Any suggestions as to how I can get the board off of the copper plate? I can't tell how it's attached for sure.

There’s a silveride (silver plus aluminium plus others) putty that is used to glue these on, very close to thermal paste. I’ll post a photo of my setup when I get home.
I use a heat gun at 1400•-1600•
Lay the pieces board down on a thin MAGNETIC STAINLESS grill rack over a pan. Heat the bar directly in the middle for a few minutes. Then with a SLIPJAW set of pliers you can hold the very hot copper bar and use a small standard (flat) screwdriver to gently peel the board loose.
As I said I’ll post pictures of my set when I return home. Excluding heat gun and pliers it cost me $3 at goodwill for the whole kit.

The reason I say “magnetic” is because there’s a few alloys of non magnetic stainless out there that WILL loose solidity below 1500•.
Not really a game changer but it will last longer if it’s 400 series.

I actually use that for depopulating mid and low grade boards for components recovery. Once the board is nice and hot, just on the edge of creating smoke, I can turn the board sideways and give it a good strong whack against the grill to knock the surface mounted components off. All falling into my perfect collection pan. Repeating on anything left on the board.
