Can you elaborate on that?

Remember this analogy: You haul aluminum cans to your local scrap yard. Let's assume that the yard pays $0.75/pound for them and they are 20 minutes from your house. If you haul a small bag containing one pound of cans, you're only going to get $0.75. The scrap yard does not pay you for bringing them in, just for the cans themselves. On the other hand, you crush your cans and on top of that, you collect cans from your neighbors and once a week, you walk a couple miles along the road and pick up any cans you find. Let's say this brings you to 20 pounds of cans collected for a month. That will be $15 in your pocket. The amount of gas burned is the same, the difference is the number of pounds of cans you bring in.

Funny how the only negative review of boardsort isn't actually a negative review of boardsort but a complaint about whatever carrier he used. There are ways to make it well worth the postage. Packing a box corectly, using a weight in a box size that won't incur a overweight charge, and using freight services. Read up on the forums and save up some high grade material before shipping a load.

I keep pointing to fedex. If it doesn't fit in a flat rate postage box. Create an online business account if you ship more than 4 packages a month. save up to 40% depending on volume.

Use PayPal to send your postal shipments. Great discounts.

TNT can ship anything under 100lbs depending on where you live.

Try uship.com.

This is why I like boardsort! A person complains, and the boardsort crew doesn't get all testy and angry, they give you options to consider which would make it more beneficial for you! Work with them and they can give you good advice....

Y'all arguing about orders messed up that you sent in. Try going to the Wickliffe center and get robbed twice.i weighed the items both times before I left to drop off. First time I forgot the weights in my office. Second time I didn't and almost every catagory was short by 10 pounds or better for scrap metal. But that's not the kick. Try being shorted over 400 pounds of high grade p board. And the second time was short 200. Slime balls. I even wrote this Cris dude. You would think he would atleast have the courtesy to say sorry. Not like I'm saying give me money. In fact I told him I am not looking for compensation. So I'm not looking for no hand out. They robbing you one way or another. Downgrading boards without telling you. Giving you the wrong weights. Not putting items down. This company had potential but it's straight trash. Amped up more then it is for real. Slime balls.

I'd be interested in a more detailed, and proofread, explanation.

I try not to attack. And this isn’t one.

But here’s one thing nearly every user or lurker more than a few days would notice.
You have one post. These forums are here to help! All you have to do is ask.
If you had a bad experience with classes the first time I’m sorry, but it’s rather easy to verify via posting for a second trip.
Everyone here is happy to make a few grade verifications for you.

The other thing lost on many beginners is remembering to tare your scale. Things like pallets and bins are not counted in the item weight.
The average 50 gal heavy duty plastic garbage can weighs 18 pounds! A pallet can range from 5lbs in thin recovered wood to over 50 for compressed particle board.

I don't scroll all the way down on the mail forum page often, but this is the first time I have seen a negative review about Boardsort! Not even mentioning the OP that was really a gripe about shipping cost.

I love having this resource to discuss different types of boards and e-scarp in general.

I think you said it best Lost, this was a one post bandit.

Happy scrapping in 2023!
