Hi,

For rambus memory, or any memory with metal covers. if you remove the metal will you get regular gold fingered memory price?

If yes is it worth removing?

yes, you get regular ram price.

depends on weather its worth it. find a scale and take a couple apart to see. There are some that have two sides of aluminum, some that have one, some that are heavy sticks, some have one side of chips, etc...

Thee are so many types, its hard to say... tear a couple apart, check out the numbers, and see if the difference is worth your time.

Assuming it has gold fingers.
True rambus is rarely worth popping the rivets but any standard ram with a cover almost always is.
The ICs on rambus are built into the pcb, in that in most cases they're extremely thin and the base sits below the pcb level. With the exception Of LSI and qp memtech I sell them as rambus.
