Hello everyone,

Is there a Go To source that identifies all Tantalum capacitors? I have seen the small mustard colored square ones, the black ones with the grey stripe but have seen a few youtube vids that say there are more (round mustard colored, blue, etc). Just want to save the right things.

Thanks all!!!

Bob

Easy answer? No

The mustard seed ones are the ONLY always tantalum.
Solid with stripes is most often a cmc. Though tant does exist. The round ones that are flat are organic caps, may or may not be Tant.
And the cylinder on long pegs with a nickel or stainless shell could be anything.
Sorry
