 Post subject: Dish Network box

I found this old Dish network converter box with a sim card in it....it had this green board in it like a medium grade board but with a north bridge chip and some other ic's...if I strip all the metal..copper and aluminum capacitors will I get peripheral? thanks..a little bit of gold wiring is on there too where the sim card connected

you should get peripheral as is... but if you are shipping them in, I would consider taking the transformer off just to save weight for shipping/space concerns.

It had a credit card type card that said Dish network on one side and a sim card embedded into it on the other side that you inserted into the box... actually like the new credit cards...so really ahead of its time....2003 I think

Cablevision had the first consumer smart card back in 98. But yes these were far more advanced than anything then available. The four stream business box dish offered had a 500 meg memory card in it to buffer streams.
How far we have come that all this fits on a quarter length USB stick now.
