I'm sorry.

Is this what you are suggesting I build?

(I promise I'll try to behave - I just couldn't resist (pun intended) - w00t!)

Lol.
No.
8 half inch bars. 5 1/4 screen sheets. Some aluminium mesh. Well, yes we're moving fast; so take a look at those ideas on Amazon. See one in person.
But the price range isn't that expensive for a prebuilt, under $100 for most and many under $50.
The premise of a tech case (frame) is easy quick access and no trouble swapping parts. Once you use one you'll never want anything else.

I'm liking it alot.

Thank you not only for your knowledge, but, also for your patience.

The other parts are far more complicated and I'll do them as I have time.
But those frames are a tech dream when it comes to testing. As I mentioned your also want an antistatic dust cover. My family jokes about the mess I make everywhere else but the cleanest most sanitary place in the house is probably my workshop. Where I'd gladly serve up a meal on the bare concrete floor.
Just don't touch the wires. They're probably live and you'll probably die.
