I thought the 2nd one would be Telco with all of the large processing chips soldered on it. Is it peripheral because those chips aren't easily removable? One of these also was a motherboard out of a fanless PC. It also had its processor soldered to the board rather than it being a socket. Is that why you thought that would be peripheral also? I appreciate your help on trying to teach me.

It’s peripheral because you have large heavy low value ports on the side, a large amount of board space weight, and the chip/ic content doesn’t offset ththe overall size of the board

If I knock the ports off would it then go to Telco. I know normally it lowers the value to remove from the board, but in this case what I would be taking off is of lower value and added weight, just like taking the heat sinks off.

There’s simply not enough of everything needed and too much of what’s not to get telco. Even if removing the ports you’ll still be on the peripheral range on that one.
