A - Leave 486 on board for dual small or harvest it and go down to sm single?
B - The proc was on a board where the post it is, what the heck do I measure to grade?
C - Big white connector had a backplane with multiple Lrg socket mobo, so what does that make this?
D - Lrg single?
E - Dual Lrg Socket? Can I clip the fingers?
F - Enough for telco or just perif?

That 486 is not the same as the gold cap/ gold pin 486s that sell for$100/lb... it's just a standard IC chip killer that... you don't gain anything by taking it off as the board is considered larger socket.

MLS, Thx so much, is this considered lg sock because of the age? That socket is only like 1.5" pin to pin.
Bummer on this not being the valuable 486 because I have a handful of these black ceramic 486s

A) Large socket. Yes due to age. Don’t remove the cpu, it will become peripheral

B) large socket

C) large socket

D) looks like the low end of telco here

E) dual large socket —> MLS... clip the fingers? I’m borderline and lean to no since it’s not a “true” motherboard.

F) this is one for Chris directly. I lean telco with the Philips chip in there. Where Chris is though I don’t know for sure and these have gone both ways for me.
Try emailing Chris a photo directly or see what mls says.

sail4life: for boardsort those goes as ICs because they generally round category values on the edge cases. They ARE worth a bit more to a gold refiner than a standard ic chip, a little, but not enough to see any movement in value on a ‘handful’ of them. A few dozen pounds and someone may up the payout a but (possibly even boardsort) but we’re talking cents per pound, not dollars.
