So I have an array of boards from various places that have been ripped apart over the last year. It'll cost me about 50 cents a pound to ship these in, so economically makes no sense to deal with anything here that isn't peripheral or better it seems.

For that, the board is going to need to be green on both sides at the least, yes?

Any brown board such as comes out of a power supply, CRT monitor, VCR, etc would be low grade, yes? I dump it off for a couple pennies at the local yard.

I've removed the batteries I know about in all the attached pictures, but browsing through the forums I see comments about batteries in pictures that I don't even see. If you spot one let me know.

I've attached pictures for any further questions:

the two network boards are peripheral, please pop the shields and heatsink off. The lower one MAY have a battery box on it. rest are midgrade.

these are really pushing the class premise but yes; gold finger card
top has limited ic but removing the copper spool and with the heavy gold port...
bottom has even less stuff but what it dose have is relatively decent.

telco (remove the screwed on bracket here and do NOT remove ICs)
midgrade, like the other one further up the list just cut the port off.

both peripheral. CAREFULLY remove the DALLAS box. it's a battery.

both peripheral

both peripheral. Do cut the wire as clean as you can to separate them

20180911_184423.jpg [ 2.9 MiB | Viewed 96 times ]
large socket, yes the circled IC and the three in the square sockets can be removed for IC rate.

metal socket. yes heatsinks need to be removed from the majority of items including this photo and video cards.

Thanks for your help lostinlodos.

This has gotten me through most of the pile. Found a couple more questions. This stuff looks equivalent to what I'm understanding is peripheral, would you agree?

And not sure about these ITX boards. Are some of these peripheral (the ones with the CPU hard mounted) and some metal socket?

Thanks.

top yes if you pull the big piece off and the large capacitor and the aluminium (and you must remove the battery) then you will clear peripheral with the ICs left in the sockets.
Lower one always remove any pop-off shields. and it's peripheral
