Anyone know if a used/worn out pace maker has any value as scrap. I have been googling, and one site says they contain platinum and platinum alloys, while another says they are titanium. I will eventually get around to opening it just to see what is there. You have heard that curiosity killed the cat, (but the satisfaction of knowing brought it back) I first heard the second part just a few years ago.

Varied depending on model, manufacturer and age. About $5-$25 depending on various factors.
That’s at the high end of the spread though and most people will likely get about half that.
I won’t ask how you got a pacemaker. I just hope you didn’t remove yours or curiosity really kill the cat. ;)

Sister had one replaced a few years ago, and for some reason they let her keep it.

Ah; I have a friend who does the same thing. Hands over various medical devices and things so I can see how they work.
I really wasn’t asking though. Just the way you built up to it with curiosity and cats left the door open for a jab at...
PSA:removing your own pacemaker out of curiosity is not wise.
Kind of like
PSA: sleeping while running your chainsaw may result in injury or death.
