If it’s on one page but not the other, contact Chris by email. It’s an error.

Per the "Chip buying chart" list, i see (example) CPU Name, Q8400. Now my question is, when i go to get my quote for my CPU's in the "CPU Price Quote", these is nowhere to submit a Q8400. Where or how do i submit that?

Hi Mike,

The list you were looking at was old and not updated.

I have corrected the link.

We no longer list the Q's on our buy list. They are getting passed their prime and we have an inventory surplus of them currently. Same with the E series. Sorry.

I dont see an updated list. It appears that second list was just deleted? Thats highly disappointing. I probable have about 70 CPU's and only a couple of them are on that list. Are these CPU's you buy back that rare or am i really that unlucky?

The Q8400, a Core 2 quad, is really end of life. A quick look at hard drive exchange shows they run $3 or so. Tossing the extremes out Ebay has them sold from $0.99-$14.00 with a trend at $9 and average around 7-8 on sales. Figure $3-$5 shipping in that’s small margins.

So boardsort would have to buy them at pennies to make a resale on these and cover any fees and costs.
Boardsort is looking at CPUs with a major current life. Some of the older ones they list like 2nd and 3rd gen Core have use in Dell and IBM mini- and office level computers. Those quads are limited to IBM client machines and Macs. More or less. A rather small market for boardsort to be targeting now.
