These are all borderline. Top could be gold pin connector or peripheral
This is definitely peripheral, remove the IC
Her and after, all debatable.

I’m emailing Chris on these.

Yeah, my first thought on board one is either backplane or peripheral.

Second board I thought would be peripheral or cd drive board.

Third looks like it could pass large socket MB rate, peripheral or telecom on a low end.

4th looks telecom but doesnt have enough IC to seal the deal even has 1 transformer.

5th looks like a newer version of the third board, my guess is large socket or peripheral.

Lets see what the boss man says, these are boards I usually just throw into my ODD ONES bucket.

In honesty I primarily deal with stuff that bumps into this era but principally older. But the volume I do go through has taught me not to EVER guess. Always ask.
I’m going to ignore that and throw my 2cents here
This is NOT a quote.

Peripheral, barely

Peripheral, quite positive. I sent 6 of these in an early shipment

Large socket, old gold plating offsets junk weight

Peripheral ; all low grade ICs, no plating or layering, junk weight

Peripheral; not quite there for LG soc

Let’s see what the boss says now. I sent him the link.

FYI I literally sent a BIG box in once I quoted as peripheral and a message in the box “?”, and an email that said I have no idea.
An old soviet mini and parts of a European knock-off Hammond.

He actually sent back a message telling me what he sorted it out as!
For me... that’s priceless education.

Thats good info lost, a lot of the buyers I deal with where I have to ship stuff out do not really provide a breakdown.

I usually keep a record of my weight and what I sent in, if my total is less than what they paid me ( which is almost always the case ) and it does not amount to lesser greater than $30 I care not to bother my buyer further just for that.

However, if its off by a hundred something or more I look at my sheet and ask them for a proper breakdown on weight and material.

Not too many buyers care after they receive your material but there is always something good about every buyer regardless, better pricing on certain things ( specials ), convenience, payment on spot etc.

I feel like I met you before, someone who introduced himself from the Grand Rapids. I could be terribly wrong lol.

I am now just preparing my first drop to Boardsort, I personally want to drop it off after I complete the load. I like going to e-waste facilities and looking at their set-up and just see how they do things. I have a couple more odd ones to post in a bit.

Some of my buyers are very informative of how they want things to be depending on how they get paid. A buyer I dealt with who sends material for refining gets paid based on assay results and they are extremely strict on sorting and preparation.
Another buyer I dealt with gets paid based on recovery results and they are not as picky as the other. Boardsort is also a breed of its own, the name I think is genius and known by many for its integrity and honesty.

What I like most is their website, the forums, and they have a scale that weighs material to the bottom weight and gives you a proper estimate on value. It is never a boring site to explore and you actually get to see other peoples boards and collection, always a pleasure to see other peoples material even the nice boards that other members simply want to brag about lol.
