Looks like his prices are half, or less than half of Boardsort's. I would sell him your junk, anything that is not profitable to ship. You may want to check local yards for prices as well.

I've been shipping from southern New England using FedEx Ground. I ship a mix of lower grade materials (peripherals) and higher grade materials to bring the value to $140 or better, while shooting for a weight of 40-50+ lbs. That way, I pay ~30+ for shipping, and still net at least $100 per shipment.

I realize your shipping rates will likely be higher from CA. You can check FedEx rates here https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home. Be sure to click the "drop-off" option, and use "your own packaging". Keep in mind that packages over a certain size will have an OS surcharge.

also i have been saving up and have a box truck load almost full but you can ship ltl from the big shipping companies dont be discouraged by their size i can ship a pump from my work (im in pump and tank business) 200 pounds anywhere on east coast for 70 bucks. so instead of numerous small loads save up a pallet box full and ship with a trucking company. also the way it work is the heavier it is the less you pay per pound opposite of the post office ect

True. However, density of the weight is everything when shipping freight. Tractor trailers have a finite amount of cubic feet. Generally, they will be in more danger of using that space up much sooner than they are likely to exceed their weight limitations.

Hello bowlbug,

I am also outside SF, Napa actually. Were you still game on working together with someone for shipping ewaste to boardsort or perhaps another vendor?

If so let me know.
I sent you a PM but for some reason it is stuck on the outbox.

hey there I am brand new to BoardSort and also live in the bay area in San Rafael ( Marin County ) and would be interested in going in on a pallet to send to Ohio. I realize these posts are over 6 months old but if your like me you probably have more stuff now to ship then you did 6 months ago. So if you are still looking let me know I'm going to start getting my stuff weighed and ready to ship. I'm sorry I went through another company 2 months ago and sent 45lbs and got 20 dollars for my efforts. I would say who they are but I'm not sure that would be ok in this forum if anyone cares to know shoot me a private message and if thats not allowed Mr. Moderator please tell me, so I don't get myself in hot water here . I'm actually excited once again on the chance of seeing something for all my efforts over the last couple of years instead of feeling ripped of by the local yards every time i drive up on the scales
