1GB sticks had most use in gimmick marketing. Be it 5GB or9GB or or 17GB.
Today the only real use for it is In pared memory 32-bit systems. Be it 1/1 or 1/1/1/1 Or in Risc servers as 1/4/1/4 for 10GB or 1/4/1/4/1/4/1/4 for 20GB Though 1/1/4/4 and 1/1/1/1/4/4/4/4 are popular layouts.
It’s too small for 64-bit systems and too large for most older computers. I’ve had tested ones sell eventually for a few bucks but I considered it more trouble than worth for the few bucks I’d get.
