sorry I know its probably a nooby question, I was wondering is it better to remove gold pins of boards such as mother boards, peripheral boards, hard drives, or is it better to leave them on. would it degrade the value of the board?

9 times out of 10 removing stuff reduces value. Removing pins will generally bring the value down a full notch or more

i remove the pins/ics/other items of value of anything that is blow the 80 cents per lb mark because it coast me 60-72 cents to ship per lb...

what you or anyone should do is figure out how much you want to make vs how much you will spend .of course if you live in Ohio(near boardsort) then thats a different thing all together and the best bet would take all boards intact.

Good advice. Anything midgrade or under I strip clean including the capacitors for Al breakage and resistors for cbm.
Pins... though tend to make or break the class.
A floppy controller is peripheral because of the pins.
Remove the pins and most are low grade or worse.
A good rule to look at.

Behind the water dpt. Streets and sani building. Drive down Genoa through the fence that says do not enter and first building on the left just inside the fence.

I'm on the Dupage Cook boarder (30-50 minutes depending on the which hour of the 22 hours of rush hour)
and I've been using them for over 15 years. I've tried others. Some pay more, most pay less. But this is the most honest yard I've used.
They're friendly and competent, Tell him I sent you, and you're a boardsort user.
you'll get a better overview rather than a toss aside the normal people get. Tells him you know what you have upfront. He's about 50-60% below board sort rates, but remember he's paying cash on the spot and you're not shipping it anywhere.

On the other hand you can pm me and I can purchase cash (and pick up). I'll match chris's rates exactly for you.
I actually salvage parts from them when I can so it's a win-win for me to match Chris when It's local.
