they have a limited gallery of pics to illustrate some of the different items. there is a photo of the black fiber cpu chip in there.

Regular IC chips fall into a number of categories... usually the have a black epoxy base with legs coming out the sides. they can be two or four sides with legs and come in a verity of shapes and sizes.

flatpacks is kind of a loose term that will mean different chips to different people because it is used interchangeably by many.

Personally, I call flatpacks any black chip with legs coming out all four sides... I believe the industry term for these is a QFP chip (stands for: quad flat pack chip).

Some people use flatpack to refer to other types of chips as well, but that is a generalization. They will include BGA, LGA, and PGA chips in this as well, but each have their differences.

Location: Low DOS
The flat black top green base bga chips with the gold corner or line... go as green fiber.
The black squares with a fiber base go as ics.
Black small qfp chips also go ic.

Those are ic chips. That board will go for Telecom as is and I don't recommend you to strip it. Sell it as it is.

here is the link for the black fiber cpu
