Im a mechanic and run by these little boards all day long. I just dont know what they would be classified as.

These are from vehicle door lock remotes and some cruise control switches. It looks like theres a decent amount of gold plating, but im not experienced at all, what grade would these classify under? Thank you

My guess is that you can toss them all into the Peripheral category, but I would wait on confirmation from one of the pros.

Everything looks to be peripheral grade.

The gold looks nice and shiny but is actually extremely thin. A few microns. what your actually Seeing is the reflection from the nickel-tin-copper base underneath the gold which is highly polished.
Heavy plating like military &industrial boards and old stuff from pre-90s computers is dull and grimy looking.

Yeup, absolutely, what lostinlodos says. Typical Au thickness went from 80-100 micro inches in the pre 90s (even thicker in some older applications), to less than ten micro inches today. A trained eye will recognize that dull, yellow look as old, thick gold.
