Been away for a while, but I'm back. Got a box of these in today, maybe 15 or 20 lbs. I think E-prom or something, didn't see a price for them or a pic, maybe I've been away to long. Any help would be great. Thank's.

RCM,

Hey what about smaller ic's that have gold colored legs (not sure if the are brass or gold)?
I have some on some board that come out of mouse they are maybe 3/8" wide and 3/4"long. The board itself is a low grade (brown). I may need to take a picture of one.

Thanks

EPROMs with gold legs will go as standard ceramic CPUs. I put them in AMD ceramic

The laser diodes/led unit from mice go in IC with gold legs or peripheral with silver/nickel legs. Must have all the legs. Loose a leg loose the IC grade.

If you left the diode unit on the board the board gets peripheral (must remove scroll wheel).

Only the ones that you left the diodes on. But yes one with the gold legs get the board in peripheral.

I go through optical and laser mice like most people go through Halloween candy!
Technicians call the unit a ccd
Recyclers call anything with an optics hole a DLP.
The mice with gold pin optics will get peripheral for the same reason a disk controller makes peripheral.

The only time you should harvest the pins off the diode or even consider removing the diode at all is if it's a g series Logitech or a wired! Apple optical mouse. Where the legs are thick gold on nickel (from the same factory).
Otherwise the peripheral board rate works out better for you.
