Just thinking and wondering.....
Why does metal socket mb pay out less than small socket mb? The CPUs from metal socket are pin less, is there not pins in the sockets? If the metal hold downs were removed would it up grade or down grade the board?

It doesn't. Both are $1.40/lb.

Sorry I should have said multi socket boards.....I'm guessing it would be the same for either single or multi socket?

It's not that metal socket boards are worth less but that the standard ones are worth more. The pin chip receptacles have more gold content then the land grid array.

Removing the metal CPU brackets gives you a metal socket motherboard that weighs less.

ohh ok.
I was just curious and wondering if they could be up graded. I figure the possibility of an up grade is worth looking into :)

;)
That was meant to be playful but reading it now it may not have come off as such. I meant nothing with it.
Always worth looking for upgrades.

:) it's all good, I didn't think twice about how it may have sounded. It makes sense though.
