They will be Telecom whether you trim them or not (basically the ones that are full boards of IC chips). The others will go to peripheral if you trim the fingers off them. I have done this with hundreds of pounds of these kind of telecom boards and confirmed with the sorters on this issue.
To answer the question if it is worth trimming the cards that will lose grade, it depends on what you do with those fingers. If you are going to recover and refine them yourself then it may be worthwhile to remove them (you would have to do the math). If you are just going to remove them and sell fingers boardsort, then no not remove them... you will lose more in board value than you will make up in gold finger weight.
Perfect answer, thank you very much. Yes we will process the fingers. I ran a test batch, nice yield. We have over 1000 boards with similar fingers. The bulk of them just interface boards, no electronics on them.
