Early in the morning,
Here lately I have come across a good bit of direct tv equipment, everything, receivers, HDMI, SWM power box (green lcd light on top),and all the cables, cards as well, my question I'm asking myself is, should I call them ? Explain to them I am a scrapper and see if they have a "finder's fee"? LOL!!!
What's your thoughts?

They don't generally care as long as they're not stolen. The user pays,or is paying, that stuff off as a lease on the bill.
I wouldn't call because they'd probably not only not pay you but ask for it back and technically it's not theirs!
My suggestion, which I do, is call the police non emergency number for the town you got them from.
Explain your a scrapper...
Tell them you got a box out of the trash the other day and want to verify the serial numbers on the RECEIVERS weren't posted as stolen.
Depending on your state they may ask you to wait 5 days, or up to 30, before recycling.
Leave everything else out of the equation.

I wouldn't sell them on eBay though, dtv is an arse when it comes to activating old equipment and if you're buyer isn't patient enough to fight through the process they may demand a refund through eBay.

Thank you for your advice, i also wont be making that call to the police station. The boards look peripheral, on your best memory,w/o pictures, would that b correct?

Receiver boards are peripheral, yes.
I get dtv units in bulk from two local goodwill locations, stuff that's obviously broken; and they get a small amount in exchange, about a dollar a box. I never call those in;
But I find small caches in storage auctions from time to time which I always verify with the pd. Nobody is dumping stolen goods at the donation center but finding two dozen sequential serials is better verified than not. Mo, fwiw.

Made the grand kids HAPPY, and me too, now they are content to watching their movies in their room and letting me watch my shows.
