Okay, I have a bunch of random boards. Some from PC'S a lot from fire alarm panels, some that I really dont know. lol. I have not dealt with selling these as scrap. Ive been looking around a little bit and can't find a whole lot of info on my stuff. I have a ton of pictures. I'll upload them and hopefully someone can help me (board)sort everything lol. I appreciate any help received! I know I dont have very much money here, but chrismas is coming up and any little bit helps. Also, if anyone has suggestions to maximize profits on these items, itd be appreciated as well. I have some power supplies and floppy/cd/dvd drives as well.

Sorry, some of the pictures might be out of order. Having a hard time uploading them. Also, if possible... Please use Non-techy terms for me. I know some stuff, cpu, heatsink, hdd, ram, ect. but a lot of the stuff is a mystery. Thanks!!!

Ideally the suggestion is to keep photos to 5 or items to 10 per thread to make it easier for everyone to follow without counting pictures to find the match in the reply.
That being said hang with me as I run through this list

1)gold finger ram and rambus. In this case you can use a #2 standard (flat head) screwdriver To gently remove the friction brackets and pop the aluminium covers off. Giving you more gold finger ram, two steel clips and clean sheet (#1) aluminium.

2)totally mixed but mostly peripheral here. You broke the photos up also so see the smaller set below

3)same as number 2 and some telco mixed in

4)telco. As long as it's gold flashed like these and have ICs they'll fall into telco. The switch board is midgrade. You need to remove the shields to get telco though. I'd suggest a #0 Philips to pry them off. just stick it in the outside hole and pry.

5)metal socket

6)mixed peripheral and midgrade

7)left cannot tell. Top --touch pad-- peripheral bottom finger card right peripheral (barely) screw is steel shred.

8)large socket (laptop class) board

9)top row is cut off so I'm not going to try
Middle: peripheral mid peripheral peripheral mid mid
Bottom: all midgrade

10)duplicate
Stand offs are usually 308 or 304L stainless if only slightly magnetic. Nickel/zinc if highly magnetic.

11)small socket

12)mixed

13)top left corner looks peripheral top right not enough to tell
Anti gold finger card
Bottom left peripheral or backplane not sure from photo
Bottom right, normally peripheral but in this (rare) case I'll go with backplane due to the number of USB 2.X ports and nickel pins on the other edge.

14) mixed
15) mixed
16) mixed

17) can't tell on the surrounding but two nice gold finger cards

18)mixed CPUs. Green fibre with metal and pinless

19)motherboard; remove fan and heatsink under it. Probably large socket

20)more mixed CPUs

21)more gold ram

22)another large mix

23)motherboard remove large fan and heatsink probably large socket

24)more mixed CPUs

25)Peripheral as is. Snip cover off for telco or fingerless ram

26)Peripheral as is. Snip cover off for telco or fingerless ram

27)duplicate

28)top I see a cell phone board
Sims are not on the list but you can send them in. Between 20c and 50x depending on factors. Snip the long plastic edge off for better grading
Dell is peripheral gold finger card to the right
Not sure on bottom board from photo

29)more mixed CPUs

30)rambus see above for ideas

31) mixed
32) mixed

33) mixed CPUs

34) mixed
35) mixed
35) mixed

36) mixed CPUs

If you really want to do as many boards in a photo as you can i don't mind but it makes my reply easier if you can get somewhat even rows and I can go left to right by row.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I've made some revisions and took better organized pictures. Would you mind if I posted them and had you take a look again? I think that a lot of the items got skewed in the pictures that I previously posted. Also, in your opinion, what do you think all this stuff is worth? Approximately.. I also have 5 or 6 hdd's, and some more ram. But, mainly value on just the boards in the pictures. I'm still not understanding how I can tell the difference between mid grade, low grade, peripheral, Telcom, ect. All the boards seem about the same to me.. Also, I made yet another mistake. A lot of the stuff came from security system panels, not fire alarm panels. If that makes any difference. I've been scrapping a lot of metal lately, not doing very good at it either.. Prices are down around here. Again, I really appreciate all your help!

Terms for board classes are misnomers. I primarily work on neglected server rooms, minicomputers and ancient technologies. I get a ton of lowgrade boards from telecommunications (telco) equipment and often find cell phone class boards in server switches, etc. Knowing where it came from is really beyond the basics, best for telling you what it was/did rather than what class it goes in.

I'll eventually get around to making a locked sticky with some discriptive breakdown suggestions since I seem to do this every few weeks or so. Lol
But basically low grade boards will always be brown, or coloured but empty/blank.
Good examples are power supply boards from standard computers. The non video output mainboard from old vcr units. And similar. Commonly have many many components that are under 50 cents per lb. making recycling low value and tedious

Mid grade
Is any low grade board with LESS low value items and some items of higher value such as ICs and bridge chips, controllers etc. They're usually green and occasionally blue but a rare brown board may pass into this category as well.

Peripheral is anything that has gold, or platinum group metals (not counting nickel) that is easily (relatively) removable such as I/o ports and sockets; that is not valuable enough for a higher grade

Telco is the single hardest classification to make. Always was and always will be. It's a class for high grade boards that aren't any of the higher classes above it.
Basically and not inclusive they have majority weight in IC chips or massive amount of gold (gold flashed gold sandwich boards with gold pins and ports); or some combination of both.

But none of that is hard and true in every case. Most telco equipment is actually peripheral class or lower. Server and ultra high grade consumer power supplies are peripheral because of the large amount of gold connectors. Laptop ram cards that use pin ports instead of fingers are telco not ram.
Direct pin (fingers) to cell memory cards are gold finger ram but cells on a board with fingers are telco. Etc.

As for photos post as many as you like. Just try to keep rows even or label the individual boards (numbers or letters) in the photos.
Also try searching the forum posts. TML spider gives an estimate of over a gigabyte of non text data, photos, in the tree so there is a fair amount of pictorial information here. I'm not going to spider boardsort to find out for sure but that's a LOT of photos.

In your case posting new photos of your remaining boards would be a good idea since you run the range from low grade to cell class.

New revised pictures. I got most of the multiples out of the lineup. So, that decluttered quite a bit.
