I'm pretty sure these are called RAM spacers, was curious if I can add these to my regular GOLD Finger Ram collection or are they in a separate category?
thank you

These will not go as gold finger RAM... The first time I brought RAM up to Boardsort, I had about 25lbs... they saw one of those on the top and proceeded to sort through the rest of them and fish them out.

I would have to double check, but I don't even think they take them as gold finger cards, I believe they actually go as peripheral grade. I remember being so surprised that i actually brought them back home to process the fingers myself.

From a recoverable metals stand point, they contain copper only trace amounts of gold. Each strip contains about 1 gram of clean gold fingers and the rest of the board (usually about 15g) has nothing but a low percentage of copper... at least that is how they explained it to me.

I'll ask again next time i'm up there which should be later this week. ill post again when i have the definitive answer.

I'll defer to MLS here since I don't send These in.

Thanks MLS for correcting that.

Let me clear something here. A spacer is not a blank. Even though it's blank. And I managed to confuse even myself in my above post. Grr.

Blanks are the formal full pcb completed but prior to IC application.
Spacers and bank cards are a the final product for an entirely different use.

Blanks are gold boards, containing the identical amount of gold silver copper etc as the board of a completed ram board and go as gold ram.

Bank boards are gold flashed boards with a copper wiring trace system.

These upon actual inspection of the photo are for bank filling.
Considering the teeth on the finger are the same thickness as normal ram I'd guess that for now they would probably get gold finger card; not peripheral at the moment. But that's just a guess.
I've sent in unfinished blank ram before (and got gold ram price) but as stated not bank boards.
Bank boards aren't worth much second hand, or new for that matter, but they're not in great supply either so when I do come across them I stash them for down the line. Easier than trying to find a set of 4 and get it in my hands in 48 hours from Amazon. :)
