This thread reminds that about 2 months ago I threw away a full set of the 28 floppies to install Windows 95 SP1. I wonder if it was worth anything?

Guess I’m really old with my VCS and Channel F.

As for AOL, I have a nice collection I’ll shadow frame some day.
I was a Guide for a while so I have nearly every disc and disk.
And some kool toys and bonus stuff too.

The Fairchild was an interesting oddity.
Being about a half hour from Amsterdam, NY where the Coleco plant was located, we all had Colecovision (helps that they too were marked down to almost nothing, as well as the expansion modules that allowed you to play 2600 games, so you could collect 2 different libraries).
We were dirt poor in the 90's, so I would cycle through the 30 day free trial, cancel on day 29 and boot up Earthlink. 29 days in, cancel and go to Netscape, etc. Destroy the disk after use and create new users each time. I had a calendar dedicated to subscription cancellation and a log book with current names and passwords.

Over the years I’ve managed to get most of the systems and many of the games.
I doubt it’s possible to get a complete 2600 collection, but I have most of the games for the Sega line. From the 1000 to the Dreamcast.

The channel F is the only one I’ve not been able to get to work. At all. I’ve swapped out power components and capacitors. Resistors. Removed the components and tested them in a programmer. Everything is good. But I get no output signal. I gave up and put it in a box. Some day I’ll buy two off ebay that are tested working.
One for my collection, one to fit one part at a time until I find out why mine doesn’t work. (Given the date, I have a feeling I got one of the first batch paperweights)

Yeah, complete 2600 games are tough, as a kid you would just take the game out and trash the box. Your best bet is to call old distributors and raid the backroom for potential unopened copies, or in true Atari fashion, you could pull up old landfill manifests.
The same holds true for Coleco/Intellivision, although I see a fair number of Intellivision games crop up more often than the others.
Looking at the specs for the Fairchild, there's not much there other than the processor and a couple custom logic chips that I guess replaced normal TTL. I guess the unit is also hardwired RF modulated? That would probably be my first stop.

The signal processor that was wonky in the first run. Mine is a reversion B.
most reply’s on /chnF said the voltage on the 16v line drops too low by the time it gets there. And I can verify mine had that problem. Memory says it was a 16.3? line delivering 15 something to the chip.
It’s the only soft wired chip on the board. I tested the rom and the code is still solid. Shunting a charged 16 volt capacitor gives a grey screen.l for a few seconds so it’s my go to for replacement. It would kill the value, but a resistor and a second gen type 1 chip at 15v is probably the fix to actually play it.
The early TI99s had a similar issue.

The biggest issue with the 2600 is nobody knows how many games there really were. Digital Press says there’s around 2000. The illustrated Atari encyclopaedia puts the rumoured number around 3000! And I know both are probably not inclusive. There was an old fandom wiki that had some obscene number like 5000 and that’s probably close.
I have a few hundred and I have no intention of completing that set. Add released cartridge homebrew and there’s probably tens of thousands. Like the Vice City commercial, I probably have a few dozen version of chase the square with the circle.

Some day, I’ll figure out why the circle was so angry!
