Rules for the recycling thread.
All other BoardSort rules apply
Beyond that:

Please keep escrap general questions in The Business Side and board identification in the What Is It thread.

There will be ZERO tolerance regarding cash for gold company discussions.
Cash for gold companies are unregulated in this county. Very few are outright frauds but you will never get the full value for your materials.
It’s a slippery slide into oblivion to allow such discussions so it’s simply banned for the time being.

This is NOT an advertising section.
If someone asks for help with a specific batch of material feel free to reply and make non-committal offers and a single method of contact. No discussions of direct pricing. I’ll even promote your abilities later as I do for Boardsort’s LTL driver users.

There will be no discussions regarding refining precious metals (pm). If you really want to get into that the gold refiners forum is a treasure trove of information on the subject. Like all internet sources there’s some bad information mixed with the majority of good: but for many liability reasons, we’ll all pass on that here. Dealing with acids and bases and electricity... not worth the problems associated with it.

So what can we do here? Freely discuss any and all recycling questions not directly focused on escrap.

Paper
Plastic
Metals
Transition metals
Rare Earths
Minerals
Glass

Precious metals (and nickel family) sorting and identification

Organics and compost (keep things pg13/R14).

Alternative use (up-cycle)
Repurposing

We can also discuss the sorting of raw electronics components. How to properly class different capacitors, motors, fuses; and such materials.

Ask any general recycling and scrap questions here. Many of the long-term users have extensive recycling experience. No question is too hard or too easy. The more we spread recycling to the masses.

A final note:
This is a generous opportunity offered by Chris and the BoardSort staff. If anything crosses the line it will be dealt with immediately.
