Does anyone know what the alloy is for these gold WiFi connectors are that are in laptops and newer desktops? I think that I have read they are a gold alloy?

Secondly, does anybody know what the exact composition of this copper alloy is? BeCu maybe? It is like the grounding strips that are on some of the server power supplies, the ones that slide in and out for replacement.

Thank you!

The wire tabs used for antenna wires, are almost always gilding base. A very thin layer of gold plating on a gold containing bronze. They work out to around $1.00-$2.50 per standard a- pound. Depending on manufacturer.
My have a guess but I sent this to Chris for an official classing.

I have no idea about the second photo. The big fans/fins, well I’ve seemed similar in music boxes (much smaller) being gold plated nickel for looks. That could be anything in reality. I’ll let Chris tackle it.

I toss the grounding fingers/tabs in the # 2 copper if copper toned, in the brass if more yellow. They are a hardened spring metal. I'll try to remember to take a couple to my local yard and have them analyzed .

I have come across everything In That mixed photo. Multiple times. For the life of me I can’t remember where.

Reminiscing:
I do know the long spring looking ones gave me quite a fright. I had to yank it out of whatever it was attached to and cut myself good the first time I ran into one.
I think it was in an old laser printer… but.
I do remember it being the best times I freaked out co-workers. It was the first time I pulled out my trusty VetBond in public. I doused it with rubbing alcohol and then sealed the slash up with VetBond.

It was gold plate. My boss was first like: what the hell is wrong with you, then thanks for noticing that. Quickly reverting to what the hell’s wrong with you?!?

I know the ‘fans’/‘fins’ I had sent in were gold plated stainless and I got gold pin connector (now connector ends) for them.

I know it is found on some server power supplies, some of it is the copper alloy and some of it appears to be steel. Copper shown.

Bingo. That’s it. You sparked my memory! It was an rack mount X-Pro LaserWriter. The small removable brick power supplies had gold plated spring like fins just beyond the handle to trip a sensor.
Wow, covid lockdown is absolutely killing my memory. I need more field playtime. Lol.
