A couple years ago, I obtained a pickup truck load of vintage airport control tower equipment. There are few boards, or no boards in most of the boxes, but a few of them do have analog components boards. The problem is the two hundred pound transmitters/etc which are filled with cracker box size sealed components, basically transformers with some controls sealed in a heavy waterproofing wax/tar. While there is some wiring going from the switches on the face to the component boxes, and heavy solder connections, no way it is feasible to strip the units. I'll post pics of the outside and inside of the units later today.

I have to admit I only have a vague idea from your description.

But hey, even at #4 CBM or sealed that’s still at a good payout.
Hopefully it’s better based on photo.

Finally got quick pics in the rain. I read somewhere long ago that old military grade electronics/analog contained at least 3 ounces of gold per ton. But, guess that doesn't apply to dryland civil aeronautic equipment.

The socket boards are from an RVR Signal data converter unit.

Well: the second one I am fairly sure has silver connectors.
The third looks likely to be be backplane class. Try to remove the tubes if you can. Broken glass sucks.

I’m not sure on the transformer? boxes. Looks to me would go as sealed units and/or ballasts.

There’s value there. No doubt. I’ve taken apart old high end commercial A/V setups that are similar. And walked away with far more than expected.

I would be careful with some of those silver boxes on those boards, some of them might be mercury relays.

Thanks, AAK2. I'll check them out before doing anything
