Hi. Is old NASA equipment 1960's the same as military grade? Or is there some brand to look out for?

Pic had a licence plate and mail in it.

the vast majority, is heavy plated gold. If you opt for whole board submissions such items are gold cap chip board or high telco.

Plated components generally fall into gold plated pins. However some old high end stuff has known values due to large quantities of source and Chris has unlisted buy rates for them.

Anything you tested coming up at that level I’d email pictures to Chris if you can OR
post an individual new thread in the boardsort help topic as a gold-plated subject line. And I’ll make sure it gets his attention.

I believe those Motorolas are one of the known value items.

Yes. You don’t have to go any further on anything else. They’re all plate, not solid.

NASA doesn't have better stuff than anyone else, even though in the past they did buy the best. Silicon Graphics instead of Dell. And, of course IRIX instead of Windows, although I still have an old NASA SGI quad Xeon that used Microsoft Windows ;)

Defence, air, and space all have to deal with EMR issues of varying levels.
So you’ll always find more expensive solder. Better posts. Stronger sealant. Etc. And yes, better shielding

They don’t, necessarily, have better parts. Not today. They’re just better built. Or are supposed to be. We’ve seen massive failures in failing to be better. Plane crashes. Lost satellites! Or rockets that fall over on launch.
But generally they would be considered better.

The iron man movies come to mind on what actually happens in reality (ironically) though. That senate scene.
