Even if the gallon jug gets rejected it's easy to put back in stream. It's not a small item that will get ignored. Gallon jug caps pop off so easily they get lost.

Yep. Wasn’t stepping on you. But I’ve seen this tiny 4 ounce plastic water bottles with caps stuffed in them
Just why!?

Plastic is still the hardest material.
Beatles are useful but we have way too much.

I’m not against, personally, return to more metal in products. They cost more but last longer. I still have a working laser printer from 1984. (Toner is the only problem). Today everything is plastic and everything is disposable. That’s the problem. We need to stick to ONE plastic in building things and have a platform in place for recycling it. Why are there 17 different plastics in my coffee machine?

More importantly we need a national law for marking-identification. Everything should be marked. Permanently. 304 or 308 or 410 steel. Pc-abs plastic vs abs.
Al vs Al-Sn vs Al-Sn-Ni-Fe
Etc.

Different plastics to increase profits. 2 for milk jugs. Hey, it leaches out faster but the product probably won't be in there very long. 5 for butter tubs, they leach slower. BPA? Who cares? It's cheap and easy. Can you smell the petroleum from a new styrofoam cup? In the USA chemicals are safe until proven unsafe. You can see the ridiculousness of that. In the functioning democracies of Europe it's the opposite. Their rules for packaging are more strict as well.
