…if it’s magnetic, it ain’t stainless…
Oh I love yards like that. And suddenly the situation makes sense!
I wasn’t directly calling you out. Just a general warning to every reader.
I’m gonna bounce around here a bit.
I’m an old skool greenny. And stand firm with my proven statement anything man’s made can be unmade.
Much of it has a cost, not a value (eg plastic).
I’ve been recycling since it first came to my town in the early 80s and I was very young. I wanted to be a garbage man as a child.
Over the decades I built very strong relationships with the dozen yards I use in the Great Lakes area.
Including some of the largest on-site recyclers in the world. Deep enough that my first time in after leaving the area for 10 years they remembered me instantly from managing to floor workers and even one semitruck driver
Unfortunately being lucky in choice I tend to forget about the other types of collections facilities.
When i lived in Missouri I used a yard that had 3 classes only.
Aluminium if it didn’t stick and was shiny.
Steel if it was magnetic.
And brass if it was yellow or red.
Funny idiots bought painted shiny plastic like toilet paper holders regularly from others.
So I get it.
Actually that yard loaded 3 train cars a week and sent it up to one of the yards I use in Chicago, who hand sort their stupidity.
:D
