Hi,
Newbie here.
How do I package loose gold's pins and other small connectors that contain gold? It will be included with memory, cell phones and some peripheral boards.

Thanks

Be sure you don't put the bags in with other boards, they'll get shredded , put them in a small box if you're gonna put them in with other boards and label the box. Everything's got to be separated in separate boxes, boxes inside boxes, etc.And clearly labeled.

As suggested, pins go great in a plastic container with a good lid and if your material isn't packed really tight it will shift and circuit board are great at destroying bags. I like to box different material and then put those boxes in another box, tetrised as tight as possible and then tape the shipping box well so even if it gets roughed up it won't fall apart.

A bit late.
Use pill bottles and related double twist or child locking lids.
My personal fav is to grab bottles of gummy vitamins on the $1 table a week before they expire. Dump the gummys in a bag. Drop the bag in a medication drop bin, and have a $1 bottle I can fill with many many clean gold pins.
I actually prefer the otc style white HDPE bottles. Think pain killers and vitamin style. Those bottles really hold up.

Look for an upcycle crafts store or thrift store. A lot of them have a near endless supply of pill bottles that they can't get rid of fast enough.

I have done this trick.
Put my items( small items) in a plastic bag. For example. Connector Ends. Gold Pins.
Then roll it up or spread it out. Put it in the configuration to pack tightly in the box.
A very important point when mailing. The most e-scrap in the box possible.
After getting the configuration. I wrap the entire plastic bag with packing tape.
That reinforces it. Also. Leaves a little wiggle room to stuff in the box.
Mind you. I pack a box tight. Nothing shifts around. Also. I wrap the entire box with clear packing tape.
That helps the box keep it's shape under any abuse during mailing.
May sound like over kill. But. I have never had a complaint from Boardsort.
I often wonder how a sorter looks at the " nightmare" plastic bag I sent. But. Again. I have had no complaints.
So. You are not mislead. I am small time at this e-scrap. Not like many forum members whom have been at this for years. Thier experience champions my comments.
I have also use plastic containers. I wrap the lid down with plastic wrap. Just in case.
Here to learn like everybody else.
My evaluations are my own opinion.
